Description

Jean-Jacques is a Standards Architect in the NetWeaver Platform Ecosystem Group at SAP Labs in Palo Alto. He has been involved in Business Process Management related technologies since 1997 when he pioneered an eBusiness Framework and the first generation of XML-based Process Engines at NEC Boston Technology Center (part of NEC System Laboratories) and later lead the design of eXcelon’s BPM. In the last five year he has focused on developing an application model compatible with business process management which is now commonly referred as a “ Composite Application Model ”.

He is author of several magazine articles and a co-author of the books “ Professional ebXML Foundations ” and the “ Workflow Handbook 2005 ”. He founded ebPML.org in 2001 to provide information on business process markup languages. He has been involved in the design of the following specifications: Open Applications Group, ebXML Business Process Specification Schema (BPSS, ebBP), Business Process Markup Language (BPML), Web Services Choreography Definition Language (WS-CDL) and Web Services Transactions (WS-TX).

In the early 1990s he founded IFE Technologies , a small factory automation and process control company, and was a member of the research staff at Hughes Research Labs in Malibu, CA. He graduated with an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Lyon and has a Ph.D. from the Faculté des Sciences de Luminy, in Marseilles, home of the Prolog programming language.
