After a career in management I was drawn to the field of the development of human potential. There was a time when I believed that good health was a gift which helped realise potential. However, this changed after a brief spell working as a volunteer at the Cancer Help Centre in Bristol England. I worked there in the early 1980’s when the Centre, (now called the Penny Brohn Centre) was relatively new. At the time there was great opposition from those who adhered to established thinking.
