East Caln Township was created in 1728 in the center of Chester County along the Lancaster Turnpike, which is now U.S. Rt. 30. East Caln is one of the oldest Townships in the County. The Township is 4.4 square miles in area and the 2004 U.S. Census estimates a reflected population of 3,166. The governing body of the Township is an elected three member Board of Supervisors.
