- It was founded under the name Vista Publications in the fall of 1997 as a vehicle to publish Amanda Lumry's first book Nantucket Borders. Laura Hurwitz, a 1977 graduate of Yale University with a B.A. in English, collaborated with Amanda on the text. They followed this initial success, by teaming up once again to create Mala Mala: Pathway to an African Eden. This project was part of Amanda Lumry's senior thesis in photography for the Visual Environmental Studies department at Harvard University.
