Description
The Eastern North Dakota Synod is part of Region 3 of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
The word “synod” comes from the Greek words: syn meaning together, and hodos, meaning the way. A synod is a group of people on the way together.
The EaND Synod is comprised of 238 congregations, 261 pastors, and 102,656 Lutherans incorporated into ministry both within and beyond its borders. The synod is divided into eight conferences: Carrington, Devils Lake, Fargo, Grafton, Grand Forks, Jamestown, Mayville, and Wahpeton. The territory covers approximately the eastern third of the state of North Dakota.
