Title

e-ignite

Description

e-ignite offers tutorials on setting up and using encryption technologies in digital communications. This primarily covers the use of encrypted email through either S/MIME or OpenPGP technology.

The primary focus of the site is on OpenPGP software which is a free, fully open-source, versatile tool that can be used not only for email encryption, but for digital signatures on both emails and files. e-ignite also offers tutorials on using the command line options of GnuPG for common tasks, and has several flash animations that give users a full step-by-step guide on setting up communications encryption.

The site also includes a relatively detailed guide on using S/MIME technology for email encryption with MS Outlook Express and (primarily) Mozilla Thunderbird.

e-ignite also offers downloadable packages containing all the free, open-source software required to set up OpenPGP email encryption on Windows, Linux and MacOS. These packages contain several individual installation files rather than one integrated install package because of complexities with Mozilla code licensing - in order to add all the required software and extensions, all Mozilla branding would need to be removed.

Finally, e-ignite also includes the Privacy and Security blog at http://www.e-ignite.co.uk/blog/. This blog highlights current news stories that affect security, privacy and digital rights and encourages discussion and input from all site visitors.
