Description
I am an advocate for compassion in birth - meeting my clients where they're at, believing what they tell me about their strengths and weaknesses, fears and hopes, and helping them to uncover the tools they already have to assist them in birth and parenting. I believe in trusting women to know what is right for their body, baby and family in any given moment.
I do not agree that fathers should train like Olympians to be encyclopedias of birth; rather, their rite of passage into fatherhood should be honored as well in addition to that of the mother.
Fathers are not sideline participants or cheerleaders, they are integral to the birth experience for the mother and baby and their role in the birthing should be recognized by all supporting participants. My goal is always to support the family as a whole by exploring the individual needs of each member and finding our way together through the labyrinth of birth.
