Description
Edward Klein, a resident of Gainesville, has been performing professionally for more than forty years on the cello and viola da gamba in orchestras and chamber ensembles, and as a solo recitalist. At 16, he was the youngest student ever accepted into the adult Orchestra and Chamber Music Program at Tanglewood, where he studied for two summers. Before that, he studied at the Greenwood Music Camp in Cummington, Mass.
He served on the Boards of Trustees at the Kinhaven Music School in Weston, Vt., and the Skylands Youth Symphony in Sussex County, N.J., where he was also the music director and conductor.
Edward received his early musical training in the Boston area with cellist Jacobus Langendoen of the Boston Symphony Orchestra; he later studied with concert artist Zara Nelsova. He is a graduate of Swarthmore College.
