Duke Beardsley Studio

Description

DUKE BEARDSLEY was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He received a BA in Art History from Middlebury College, and a BFA in Illustration from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. In 1998, Duke moved home to Denver where he began his art career with his first one man show.

Duke's interest in drawing has been a constant companion since his early childhood. As a boy, he would spend hours each day recording on paper the world he encountered both in Denver, and on the family ranch in Eastern Colorado. Today, he continues to draw inspiration from the natural beauty of Colorado and life in the west.

Duke's work has been exhibited in numerous one man and group exhibitions across the United States, including the Colorado Governor's Show, the Coors Western Art Show, the 2004 and 2005 Salon d'Arts "Jeune Salon" exhibition, and the 2005 "Masters of Montana" exhibition. He was the recipient of the 2001 People's Choice Award at the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale in Cody, Wyoming and he was a featured artist in "21 Under 31" in the September 2001 edition of Southwest Art Magazine. He was featured as an emerging artist in "Roots in the Rockies" in the September 2004 edition of Southwest At Magazine.
