Dr Joseph King
Joseph W. King, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in laser vision correction and other advanced techniques in refractive surgery. He is among the most experienced refractive surgeons in the world, having performed more than 37,000 laser vision correction procedures. The Clearly LASIK center in Edmonton is 100 percent medically directed by Dr. King. Importantly, many of the doctors and staff of the Clearly LASIK centers have undergone LASIK refractive surgery, so they have intimate knowledge of laser vision correction from a patient's perspective.
Dr. King has been on the cutting edge of technology for advancements in vision correction surgery throughout his career. He has been invited to lecture and to train other surgeons throughout the United States and internationally. He was the first surgeon in North America to use the Bausch and Lomb Z-1000 laser and the first surgeon in Northwestern United States and Canada to the use the Bausch and Lomb Zyoptix XP microkeratome. He focuses on using his extensive experience and top technology to provide the optimum visual result for each patient.

Education
Dr. King graduated from the University of British Columbia School of Medicine in Vancouver, Canada. He completed his postgraduate medical and surgical internship in Victoria, British Columbia. A dual U.S. and Canadian citizen, Dr. King's Ophthalmology specialty training was performed at Case Western Reserve University, St. Luke's Medical Center, in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as Chief Resident. Following completion of his Ophthalmology residency, Dr. King completed an additional year of training in ophthalmology, which included specialized training in laser vision correction at the University of South Florida Eye Institute.
