Dr. Swan is a 1995 graduate of Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport Iowa, with Board Certification in the Atlas Orthogonal technique (AO). Prior to this post-graduate degree, Dr. Swan was co-director for a spinal cord injury center in Southern California. He has a nursing background at University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. He has an exercise physiology background from U.C.L.A. and served in the Navy for four years as a surgical assistant and senior corpsman at Jacksonville Florida Naval Hospital.
As part of his continuing education Dr. Swan travels to Omaha Nebraska for the S.O.T( Sacral-Occipital Technique) week long traning program. This year he completed 20 hours of advanced TMD (temporal-mandibular dysfunction) generally known as TMJ. He was taught by some of the leading men in the field from New Zeland, Australia,London as well as Southern California. Last week Dr. swan completed 12 hours of advanced training by Dr. Roy Sweat in the AO Technique. Dr. Sweat has spent his life contributing to the understanding of how the Atlas influences our health and how to adjust this bone more correctly. Most AO practioners invest close to $100,000.00 in equipment just to set this one bone. With 68 times the influence on our health than any other bone it makes sense to Upper Cervical specific chiropractors to spend the money to bring our patients to a higher quality of life.
When at all possible Dr. Swan has been trained by the doctors who have developed their specific technique. Dr. Sweat personally taught him at palmer University in Davenport IA. After graduation Dr. Swan , by invitation, spent 2 months at Dr. Sweat's clinic in Atlanta Ga. Dr. Swan was also personally trained by Dr. James Cox out of Fort Wayne Indiana and was fortunate to purchase his newly designed flexion-distraction table.
