Description
Don't Blow It a registered Charity counselling and helping local children and adults who have drug problems. Based in the major fishing town of Kilkeel, County Down Northern Ireland, at the base of the Mourne Mountains and at the entrance to Carlingford Lough. Kilkeel is one of the major fishing ports in the UK and Ireland, and the largest in Northern Ireland. Kilkeel's prosperity has mainly been based on the fishing industry which has suffered much change, and there is little local industry to support Kilkeel. Drugs have become an increasing problem, and will continue to cause problems until we all work together and address the problem. We are here not to judge but solely to help, confidentially, as a friend, or in a group. We all hold the future in our hands lets work together to enjoy it.
A vital community resource here in our town is "Don’t Blow It", a community initiative set up under the umbrella of R.E.A.C.T. and based at 2 Bridge Street in Kilkeel.
Basically, the objectives of "Don’t Blow It" are to address the disturbing rise of drugs and alcohol misuse in the local area, and to work in partnership with local schools, churches, doctors, police, Newry & Mourne Trust, Education Boards and other community bodies e.g. youth clubs.
