Welcome to Domes International - The Shape of the Future
Description
With offices in Memphis, Tennessee and northeast, Mississippi, Domes International, Inc. (Domes) is an American company, manufacturing and selling dome-shaped fiberglass (FRP) houses and other formed fiberglass products using designs and techniques developed by one of the company's founders over a twenty seven year period in Mantachie, Mississippi, USA. The present investors combined operations with the founder, Joel Nichols, in 1997 in Domes' original manufacturing facility of almost 100,000 square feet in Golden, Mississippi. Domes subsequently sold its original manufacturing facility and moved to two separate operations:
Domes International, Inc. has extensive knowledge of manufacturing and overseas markets. Combined with Domes technical expertise, design, and provisioning of vital master molds, plugs, custom equipment, etc., this makes for a formidable international presence in world markets, and will allow rapid expansion in the most efficient manner.
During the first two years of business, Domes perfected its manufacturing know-how and identified target markets. Most sales during this period came through dome shaped modular houses, manufacture of steps for mobile homes, and assorted FRP products. Within the last several years, however, Domes has participated in ongoing government contracts with Boeing Aerospace, Lockheed, Raytheon, COLSA, KRS and others to supply housing for missile defense personnel on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Negotiations are under way for a total of 256 housing units to be shipped and installed to replace deteriorating mobile homes currently being used for personnel housing on Kwajalein, for a total contract value of nearly $45 million. In addition, discussions are under way with the US Army Missile Defense Command to provide similar housing on the island for military personnel, with similar dollar amounts involved.
