Karen King the owner of Alpha Dive Services Came to Powell River via a serious car accident. In her former life Karen was an Area Business Development Sales Manager. Her Territory was British Columbia. She was working on her way to Powell River to enjoy a weekend of scuba diving with a local expert in the field. When someone in a hurry to catch the ferry totaled off the car she was driving. Unable to go diving and to afraid to drive she stayed put in Powell River were she felt safe and fell in love with the area.
While trying to book a dive weekend she was very surprised to find out "The Dive Capital of Canada" did not have a dive shop! The last one remaining had closed down earlier that year. So while spending time recovering Karen also started to gather information and build a plan of attack. Then in April 2004 she opened the doors of "Alpha Dive Services" The only full service dive store from Saltry Bay to Lund. Karen's many years of travel have taught her one thing for sure and that is to offer exceptional customer service and we do! We will also match any competitor's prices from any where in Canada.
Karen aka KK enjoys life to it's fullest, she loves to laugh and says it's infectious. So far this has been her key to staying young as well as the fact she refuses to grow up.
