The company's founder, Pentti Heikkila, a native of Finland, settled in Rochester in the early 1950's. Working with his uncle who was recognized as one of the area's finest artisans, Pentti learned the art of church restoration and soon developed his own reputation for fine craftsmanship.
From 1958 to 1981, Pentti turned his attention to home building with one of the area's leading firms where his reputation for construction expertise continued to develop while building over 400 homes for the company.
