Description
In 2000, the ‘Discovery’ project was launched when it was given three years of funding from Portsmouth LEA. It was not only unique in its breadth, embracing the King Richard Secondary School and its five feeder schools (around 3,000 pupils), its innovative approach looked to address the emotional intelligence of everybody within the school community, not just the students. It moved beyond the school gates, to the parents. The rationale behind this is that everybody needs the key qualities of EI on a day-to-day basis, no matter what their age, status or occupation. We need headteachers, staff, parents and pupils with high EI and schools where developing and nurturing EI is part of the daily agenda. You can read more reading the full report, click here.
