Known as the "most patriotic town in America" Bristol plays host to the oldest continuous Fourth of July celebration in the nation. Since 1785 Bristolians have celebrated the freedoms we all enjoy through prayer, parade and family gatherings. Flags wave proudly all around town and our main street is adorned year 'round with a red, white and blue center stripe. It is said that more Bristolians return home for the Fourth of July than any other time of year. That says something as to the special place this celebration has in our hearts, for patriotism is something we all take very seriously.
Bristol streets are lined with historic homes, meticulously kept grounds, great shops and restaurants and terrific inns and bed and breakfasts - wonderful places to spend some time and take a journey back through history!
