Description
The Muni Council is an informal group of nearly 20 organizations (listed below) representing all aspects of the municipal bond marketplace. Members of the Muni Council began meeting in January of 2001 with a purpose of bringing all parties together to have a constructive dialogue on improving municipal market continuing disclosure practices and identifying problems with the current NRMSIR system established under SEC Rule 15c2-12.
The Muni Council, the Municipal Advisory Council of Texas (Texas MAC), and staff of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have worked together to develop a system that will enable issuers to meet the filing requirements of Rule 15c2-12 by means of a single filing through the new Central Post Office (CPO). The CPO will have the following features:
Provide issuers a no-cost*, Internet based CPO for making 15c2-12 filings at a single location, with the filing forwarded to the NRMSIRs and appropriate SIDs;
