Description
I started playing golf when I was seven. My dad owned a small golf club repair business called the Club Clinic at Mississauga driving range, which he started in 1969. I used to help Dad out during the summer months, after work we'd go play nine holes. From age 10 to 15, I caddied at St. George's Golf & Country Club. It was a great way to really learn and understand the game.
In May 1978, DiMarco Golf was born on Dixie Road in Mississauga. I ran the retail store front, and my dad ran the repair shop. Tragically, in 1984, leukemia claimed the life of my father. As with all of us, my dad and I were very close. He was my idol, the one who introduced me to the game of golf.
DiMarco Golf is about to change so that we can continue to provide great service and value to the many, many golfing friends and customers who have been so loyal to us over the years. DiMarco Golf is becoming Nevada Bob's a brand under The Forzani Group. The Forzani Group, Canada's largest sporting goods retailer, provides tremendous buying power as well as solid leadership. I've been in this business a long time; by becoming part of Nevada Bob's Golf I can retain my operating independence, provide better product selection and value for you, and ensure the personal touch that DiMarco Golf has always been about.
