OUR COMMUNITY
Zen Master Seung Sahn, the first Korean Zen master to live and teach in the West, founded Dharma Sound Zen Center in 1980. Our teachers, Zen Master Ji Bong and Darek Gorzewski, JDPSN, provide ongoing guidance to all students. And, as a member of the Kwan Um School of Zen, we bring visiting teachers from around the world to lead retreats, talks and other events.
One of the oldest and largest Zen communities in the Pacific Northwest, Dharma Sound Zen Center exists to support Zen students in developing and deepening their meditation practice. In turn, the efforts of individual practitioners support the entire community. We depend upon membership dues to extend our programs to new students.
