Description
The DeWitt Junior Panthers (DJP) is a non-profit organization that provides an organized and structured program to promote football and cheerleading within the community. We strive to encourage all those who desire to participate to do so, promote the game to as many young athletes as possible, promote the development of the athlete as a total person including academics, sportsmanship, self-discipline, self-reliance and teamwork.
DJP was formed in 1995 and became a member of the Mid-Michigan Pony Football League. The first year, 75 boys and girls from grades four through eight played and cheered under the blue and gold colors. Today, over 200 youngsters participate in our program and we anticipate steady increases over the next few years as the organization's popularity grows. The strength of our organization lies with the tremendous support of volunteers and the countless hours they freely give; including coaches, statisticians, parent representatives, field maintenance, concessions, organizers, enthusiastic spectators and so many more areas. We also receive acknowledgment from the DeWitt Public Schools.
