Design Cues Established in 1994, we have evolved into a design team that can handle complex architectural problems. Complex buildings are simplified into spaces with passive cooling features for comfort and energy saving. We remain committed to searching for a “New Tropical Architecture” that reflects the lifestyle of modern Sri Lanka.
EXPERIENCE IN HOSPITAL DESIGN
1. ASHA CENTRAL HOSPITAL (2003-2008) Refurbishment work on existing hospital at Horton Place, “Asha Central Hospital” ( A Private Hospital in Colombo , Sri Lanka with 06 Operation Theatres, 120 Bed hospital and 50 rooms for Consultancy) from 2003‐2008. Work includes the complete overhaul of facilities including a proposal for a 200 car parking facility.
2. CENTRAL HOSPITAL ‐ COLOMBO SRI LANKA (CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED ‐ 2008-2010) Commenced work on “State of the Art Hospital” at Norris Canal road. G+13 building with 400 car parking facility , 40 Consultancy Rooms, 260 Bed rooms, 12 Operation Theaters. Specialized in Nuero Surgery 4 Nos. theatres and Cath Lab for Nuero Surgery . Consultant’s involvement included selection of site to final completion of all hospital design related activities. Development of user requirements to development of medical facilities was also carried out by the Lead Consultant. A unique experience of being at the centre of coordination between Client specialist consultants. The complex building included all diagnostic surgical and medical facilities of a general hospital with of Nuero Surgery being the specialty. This was a new concept of hospital design with a unique Passive Cooling “Atrium” and was designed with the comfort of a star hospital in the urban Context. The design feature of the hospital is shown in the attached visual.
3. MEDICAL COMPLEX, AN ADDITION TO CANCER HOSPITAL MAHARAGAMA SRI LANKA. - 2010 to date (DETAIL DESIGN) 1000 bed Hospital, G+6 building with Phase 1 ‐ 500 beds , Phase 2 ‐ 500 beds 5 Operation Theatres, Wards beds, ICU, ETU and other specialized areas for Cancer related Medical care. Soil test and final details for commencement is under way.
4. NAVY HOSPITAL, WELISARA SRI LANKA. - CONSTRUCTION STARTED (To be completed in 2012) 270 bed Hospital, G+3 building, 3 Operation Theatres, Wards beds, ICU, ETU, Dental Unit.
