Having been raised in various cultural background, he has been widely exposed to a variety of musical influences and considers himself not to be bound by any specific genre. D's formal musical training began with the violin from the age of ten under the Suzuki method and then went onto further gaining knowledge and skills on other instruments such as the guitar, drums, trumpet, and piano. Returning back to the violin in high school, he was recognized as the district's most improved player and performed as a concert master. Upon graduating from Berklee with a scholarship, he has worked with Velton Ray Bunch, Emmy Award Winning Composer, as an assistant composer for the television film," The Tenth Circle" which premiered on LifeTime in June 2008. Then in that same year, Deon hit the international scene by scoring for the Taiwanese motion picture, "Blue Brave: The Legend of Formosa in 1895" (20th Century Fox) which was released in the movie theaters across Taiwan. Based on a true story while being its first movie to depict the biggest war in Taiwanese history, it proves to show Hakka's fervent effort and love in protecting the motherland against their adversaries. Deon is best known for his emotionally deep music that moves the heart of his audiences. In the era that is constantly changing, he has hopes and dreams of transforming people's lives through his ever evolving music. He currently resides in Los Angeles working for various films. Nov. '08
