About Us
Beginning: "denkyu" or "denkyuu" translates to light bulb. Why did we choose this name? Because a light bulb can be a symbol of a "great idea." And that's what was hanging above our heads. We had an idea that we can educate fellow anime lovers or anime newbies to understand and follow the latest news and world of anime closer than before. The genesis staff of Denkyu.com formed at the beginning of 2003 to discuss what kinds of ideas we can gather to help the anime fans community. We have decided to do several things such as put out a monthly magazine, start a weekly newsletter, archive anime and/or disc reviews, manga reviews, draw and write an original comic, create a library of specific series information, promote specialty anime stores, etc. We haven't been able to do all of this yet, but as we work together more, we can accomplish more.
We started out our list of tasks by forming a message board. We started getting people interested in our ideas quite rapidly. Of course, we can't just have a forum and let that be that. So we started writing some articles that we wanted people to read as well as reviewing some of our favorite animes and/or mangas.
We published our first well-known webzine in September 2003... This is where we are now. Stay tuned for more great things to come!
