With the explosion in popularity of collecting wristwatches in the mid 1980s, Joe DeMesy pioneered the business of buying and selling pre-owned timepieces and was one of the first dealers to recognize the hobby's long-term potential. Subsequently recognizing that no price guides existed to help newer collectors identify and value Swiss and American watches, Joe teamed up with fellow dealer Roy Ehrhardt and co-authored a series of reference books which are still widely in use to this day.
