Private alpha & beta testers have been using, and helping us refine, Defensio since early June 2007. The service was opened up to the public on November 7, 2007. Defensio was created because we hate spam, in all its incarnations, and with all its ramifications. When several prominent bloggers noted that comment spam was becoming overly burdensome, we threw the Defensio machine into gear and started coding our Ruby hearts out.
