Description
About the Director, Kells Hogan
DEEP WOODS was founded by Kells Hogan in 1970, and had its first season in the summer of that year. He had several previous years as head of tripping, Assistant Director, and Associate Director of two other camps. He is a graduate of the University of the South at Sewanee, and served three years as an Agent in the Intelligence Corps before settling into camping.
Kells is very much at home in the mountains and woods, and on the rivers of the area. In operating DEEP WOODS, he brings his accumulated experience to bear on providing the sort of active camp program that many boys like, and the kind of summer experience that is a tangible influence in the process of growing up.
