The city is the hometown of Henry Ford and Dearborn is also home the Ford Motor Company's world headquarters. The village of Dearborn was first settled in 1836 and named after Henry Dearborn. As of 2000, the population of Dearborn was 97,775. Roughly 30% of the population is made up of Arab Americans.
