Native New Yorker, Dean Haspiel is the author of super-psychedelic romances and semi-autobiographical comics and is a founding member of Brooklyn's DEEP6 Studios. Dino was nominated for a 2002 Eisner award for "Talent Deserving of Wider Recognition," and a 2003 Ignatz award for "Outstanding Artist." He collaborated with Harvey Pekar on THE QUITTER, THE ESCAPIST, and Vertigo's relaunch of AMERICAN SPLENDOR. Dean recently adapted R. L. Stein's Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes for Scholastic Graphix' GOOSEBUMPS: SCARY SUMMER, completed his first online graphic novel, IMMORTAL, and is currently drawing the sequel, FEAR, MY DEAR [recently featured at Newsarama], for the online comix anthology, ACT-I-VATE. This Fall comes BRAWL, a 3-issue mini-series from Image Comics featuring Haspiel's BILLY DOGMA story "Immortal," and Michel Fiffe's PANORAMA. Fall 2008 will see the release of THE ALCOHOLIC, an original graphic novel collaboration with author Jonathan Ames from Vertigo.
