Dead Kittie Productions started as an afterthought. It was created when two friends, Jeff Bailey and Chris Putnam were discussing burning CDs. Chris asked Jeff to put D.K.P. somewhere on every CD he burnt. Jeff took this discussion and elaborated upon it. Tired of the music industry’s tactics, he decided he would start his own label, Dead Kittie Productions, which would be more geared toward the artists and not function as a for-profit exclusive record label.
