Description
Ubuntu, Debian, and OpenWRT
When I last wrote about my home setup, I believe I was using Ubuntu on my desktops (plus windows for certain games), FreeBSD on my file/mail/directory server, and OpenBSD as a firewall/router box.
While I am still a fan of the BSD's, I thought I would see if there was any benefit to having a more homogeneous network.
Seeing as how the router box was crappy and old, I just gave it away and got myself a Linksys WRT54G wireless router. Well, back up a minute. What happened was I heard about the OpenWRT router firmware for this Linksys router (which can also be used on many other routers) and justified the router purchase by giving away my old router box.
