Danckaert was once a manufacturer of woodworking machinery. They employed more than 1,100 employees in their factory and foundry plus 120 more in direct branches and exclusive owned distributorships in more than 20 countries. It was in 1958 when Roger Criau was sent to the United States to start up a U.S. Danckaert branch. In 1962, Danckaert Atlanta added the German manufacturer, Maka, to its sales program.
