The Photography studio originated in the mid 1960's by Jim & Margaret Daly as a home based operation. The business grew and the name "Daly" became a common household word in the Savannah, Georgia area whenever photography was needed. In May, 2000, Steve and Kathy Salter , son-in-law and daughter of the Daly's, purchased the business as Jim and Margaret planned to retire. Steve, originally from Macon, Georgia, is a graduate of Mercer University with majors in Biology and Art. Steve trained with Jim for many years before he and Kathy bought the studio. Kathy, a Savannah native, comes from a medical and other customer-oriented service background and has found a real niche in the photography business. The Salter's approach their business as a customer bestowed honor. They feel they are capturing some of life's timeless memories for each customer they serve. Steve and Kathy are very proud of their continued tradition and realize the strong foundation built by their parents. They maintain some of the old traditions while introducing the new. Steve and Kathy continually attend schools striving to maintain their talents and knowledge of fine portraiture and customer service in today's world of photography. They are members of the Professional Photographers Association of America, Georgia Professional Photographers Association and the High School Senior Photographers International organization. These organizations provide them with ways to enhance their business and support for operating, in addition to strong professional and moral ethics for providing quality to their customers. Steve and Kathy have one son, Jonathan, whom at the age of 16, is already assisting in the family business.
