In the early 90’s, Cygsoft’s founders also founded Zeitnet, a pioneer in ATM-to-the-desktop technologies. Cabletron (now Aprisma) acquired Zeitnet in 1996, upon which Cygsoft’s founders became responsible for the development, maintenance and support of Cabletron’s software products, most significantly Spectrum. There is therefore a wealth of network technology, network management, and software development expertise within Cygsoft.
Cygsoft was founded with the goal of providing this expertise in the form of web services-enabled and LDAP-enabled solutions for network operations. These solutions are designed to dramatically reduce the costs of network operations while simultaneously providing an infrastructure that will facilitate the introduction of advanced and complex network services.
Along with private investments made by the founders and members of the board of advisors, Cygsoft received institutional investments from Citicorp and IL&FS.
