Description
CVIS's thematic curriculum is based on the study of traditional subjects such as Mathematics, Social Studies, Language Arts, Science, Physical Education, Spanish and Music. Small class size allows in-depth exploration while also fostering the development of critical and independent thinking skills. Rather than teach these subjects in isolation, CVIS's curriculum weaves them together. This "integrated" approach places emphasis on the relationships between the subjects and thus allows students to learn in an environment that more accurately reflects the increasingly intertwined world around them.
Parents are the main source of a child's education and thus play an integral role in a child's development. Parents also play a key role at CVIS. All parents are members of the school's Parent Association and thus help shape and run the school. Families are responsible for fund raising, helping with recess duty and daily snack, cleaning the school, and helping out where needed. At CVIS, we know that involved parents help develop successful children.
Our caring, dedicated teaching staff is the heart of our school. They are carefully selected professionals who enjoy both teaching and learning. The sensitivity and expertise they bring to CVIS is evident in every aspect of the school day. They pool their skills, experience, and creativity to develop a rich curriculum and in our school's unique setting are able to provide individualized attention to each student on a daily basis.
