The Probe was born out of a need to fill a niche’ in the market that hasn’t been filled by an Australian Manufacturer in some years. Our objective was to create a boat that was extremely functional, reliable, maintenance free, tournament quality boats at an affordable price. Akin to the Holden and Ford debate there are two types of ski boat owners, those who prefer Inboards, others Outboards. Having been in the Inboard Market for several years with much success we felt it was time to broaden our horizons.
On February 22 2002, the new Probe Outboard was launched and towed the Queensland Barefoot Titles with much success. Many competitors set “Personal Bests” with several records being broken in the process. Quite a deal of interest was invoked after the Probe Exceeded all expectations of the participants, some commenting that the wash was “too good!”. Several sales were made as a direct result of its extraordinary performance, but more importantly we proved that a world class Barefoot boat could be built in Australia.
Custom Ski Boats are manufactured by the Managing Directors; Clarke King, Brad Hohn & Jon Rein. Having been in the industry for a total of more than 40 years a broad diversity of experience has been contributed to the design & manufacture of these boats. Currently our manufacturing facilities enable us to build up to 50 boats annually, however plan for expansion are a not too distant reality.
