Description
The South East Neighborhood Watch (SENW) of South East Street in Culpeper started their first Christmas Tour of Homes in 1993. As a Neighborhood Watch on one of the oldest streets of Culpeper, the members had the desire to share the beauty and history of their homes. Over the years, the Christmas Tour of Homes became such a success that different homeowners, on East Street and adjacent streets, opened their homes for tour every December.
After six successful years, the SENW saw the opportunity to expand this local street event into a true community event. We received a warm welcome in several historic neighborhoods in Culpeper in the following years. In 2003, we celebrated our 10th Anniversary and returned once again to our own historic East Street neighborhood.
People from Culpeper and other cities in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC enjoyed the annual Christmas Tour of Homes, which continues to grow in popularity.
