CMGA

Description

We have over 800 members who share a passion for gardening and a strong desire to give back to our communities. All have completed at least 130 hours of classroom and field training to earn UConn's Master Gardener certification. Many have gone on to complete the Advanced Master Gardener certification and remain active in the program as mentors to new students.

CMGA works closely with UConn's Home & Garden Center and the Cooperative Extension offices in each county to provide Connecticut's many home gardeners with information and answers to their questions about horticultural and landscaping. We do this with educational events like our annual symposium at Manchester Community College and smaller workshops around the state. Our members are also very active in local volunteer projects, such as community gardens and beautification programs. See CMGA Projects for highlights of our work.

If you are a non-profit or civic organization that needs guidance on a gardening project, we'd like to help. Maybe you'd like to offer a class to your members or landscape an area near your facility. Contact us and we'll try to match you up with a CMGA member in your area who has the expertise to assist you.
