The Cross of America™ was designed and developed after the September 11th, 2001, tragedy as a way to express what I was feeling about what had happened. The sense of helplessness that came over all of us in those days following, gave way to the thought that we wanted a way to express our faith in God and faith in our country to get us through this. As I watched television and saw films of the flag being draped over the World Trade Center, I kept thinking "they need a cross up there."
