The above quote summarizes my reasons for why I love Fantastical fiction. I never did like straight “realistic” novels that didn’t allow me to see and dream about the type of worlds that I fell in love with after reading Tolkien and the Howard Conan stories. I started seriously reading and collecting Science Fiction and Fantasy books about 32 years ago when I was a teenager. Over time, I became more interested in collecting and reading Fantasy with the absurd idea of creating a “complete” library of Fantasy literature. It seemed possible in the 1970’s when the majority of the fantastical genre fiction was Science Fiction and I only had to buy a handful of books a month and this included “old stuff” that was out of print. As I grew older and started a career in computers, I thought that I could keep up with Fantasy as my income kept going up. Of course the only problem with that was that as the 1970s rolled into the 1980s a huge explosion of Fantasy began and it still hasn’t stopped. But it was during the late seventies that I thought about becoming a bookseller. The problem was that I had too many career and family matters (happily) to take care of.
What I Sell
The time has come for me to try bookselling and I’m using eBay and this website as a way of doing that. The majority of books that I put up for sale come from my personal collection. Over the years I would pick up duplicates of the books I collected, or I would pick up books that I could eventually trade or sell. That’s why you will see a wide range of subjects such as mysteries, history, romance, adventure, etc. My goal is to describe and grade the books as accurately as possible. Any feedback that would help me better achieve this goal is appreciated.
