The designer of the CRICKET COACHING MAT is David Cooper. David is an ECB registered coach and a teacher at a comprehensive school in West Yorkshire where he has been the master in charge of cricket for the last 20 years. David is a former opening batsman who played in the Central Lancashire, Hampshire, Bradford and Airedale and Wharfedale Leagues. Since his retirement from actually playing the game he has concentrated on coaching cricket to the district schools under 15's teams, his own school teams (Yorkshire Champions 1988) and his own clubs junior section.
Assisting him with the coaching is David Weston. David is a lecturer in PE at Huddersfield New College and an ECB advanced coach. He currently plays for Scholes in the Huddersfield League as an opening bat. Showing the rapid progress that youngsters can make by using the mat are David's children Tom (12), Mark (11) and Beth (10), although the mat can be used for much younger children as well as ladies, men and people with learning difficulties.
