The Center of Resources for Economic Education and Development, Inc. (CREED)

Description

CREED, Inc., The Center of Resources for Economic Education and Development, Inc., is a non-profit corporation, 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides economic education and development of first-time homebuyers and other people in the housing industry. We have taught first time homebuyers about credit, debt ratios, home ownership, the loan application process, quality of construction, glossary of terms, additional expenses home ownership entails, etc… Chances are that for many people a home is most likely to be a family’s greatest asset. We not only want to assist families with the purchase of their home but also teach them how keep it. It is one thing to be able to qualify to purchase a home and another to OWN IT FREE AND CLEAR; this should always be the goal -- to own a home free and clear!

Additionally, we would like to help insure that quality homes are built. We intend to do this by providing funding for scholarships in Building Construction. By having quality educated builders in the market place it will raise the quality of housing available, which will help insure value in the homes purchased by homebuyers.

CREED’s buyer assistance program complies with all of HUD’s requirements. CREED’s gifts are true gifts to the homebuyers, and repayment by them is not expected or implied. CREED also provides all necessary documentation to the lenders, creating a paper trail of funds, showing the gift amount, donor’s name, address, telephone number, and relationship to the borrower, both the donor and the borrower will sign these documents.
