Some Create Now! Success Stories
Michael had a hard life since he was a child. Both of his parents were drug addicts. When he was 12 years old, he and his brother had to fend for themselves. They lived on their own in a seedy motel, stealing food to survive. Michael ended up at Camp Miller for purse-snatching. He participated in the Create Now! Talent Show and won First Prize, along with his friend Keelan. Create Now! arranged for both young men to record their songs professionally. Michael calls himself "KL" or "Killin Lyrics."
Through Create Now!, he frequently performs in front of hundreds of youth who are locked up in detention camps, just like he was. KL shares his music and encourages them to stay out of trouble. He helps those kids who want to further their music careers once they're released from the institutions by arranging for them to record their songs.
He supports his wife Chantal and baby daughter Maya by working as a security guard. He was just promoted to a supervising position at his company. This allows KL the chance to perform and record on the weekends. Check out his website: www.killinlyrics.com.
