Description
We offer international travelers the opportunity to learn about and contribute to non-western cultures through volunteer programs, internships, and language study. Our participants give their time and share their skills and talents with local people from all walks of life. Our programs are about getting outside of one's comfort zone, seeing what's out there in the universe, and making a meaningful contribution to some of its citizens, especially as Cosmic Volunteers.
Cosmic Volunteers was founded in 2000 by American Scott Burke who volunteered as a teacher in rural Nepal. Cosmic Volunteers began by offering volunteer programs in Nepal but has since established ongoing programs on several continents. We're now establishing new programs in Southeast Asia and expanding our South America programs.
There are some great companies who do what we do, but none have our unique combination of affordable program fees and great programs. The cost-of-living is generally low in our program countries, so we feel it's just unfair to charge over 2,000 USD for programs that last only 2-3 weeks.
