- I have been doing some research on hamsters and learned that because they are not 100% domesticated they only know 2 stages: either 1) sleep (in a hole or protected place) or 2) move (to avoid being attacked from overhead by birds and bigger creatures). There is no in between for them such as sitting and watching t.v., relaxing, etc. If they're sitting it's because they are eating or cleaning themselves obsessively. This poses a problem for those who like to hug or snuggle on cute little creatures.
