Description
The Cooked and Eaten is a reading series based in Peterborough, Ontario that promotes new and adventurous authors to an engaged and informal audience.
The series was started in 2000 as an experiment to find a few writers willing to read and a handful of people willing to listen to them. We hoped we would find enough of each to have a few events over the course of a year.
Since then the series has grown to include writers from all over Ontario and Quebec and has also hosted many special events. We have welcomed writers of fiction and poetry as well as acoustic musicians, lecturers, performance artists, and other afficionadoes of the written word. It is our intention to keep the series going and to expand the kinds of writers and performers who appear.
