CookbookCo.com BETH HEGBERG

While some people might consider working with a charitable organization as something they could do only as an option and nothing else, Beth Hegberg considers it the very essence of her being. Gifted with an enviable sense of character and a heart that bleeds for people with disabilities, Beth Hegberg has been engaged in the often tough task of raising money for the endowment of the organization she has come to love—Community Options. Beth belongs to the Community Options Board of Overseers, and one of her most notable accomplishments was the successful organization of an Awareness Party held in February 2012. With the Mendham home of Scott and Alex Leibold serving as the lovely cocktail venue, the event materialized as a setting to get more people familiar with Community Options and the type of work the organization has been doing for some time now. Beth Hegberg gathered a committee of friends and neighbors to execute the entire event, with the selfless participation of Community Options Board of Directors trustee Peter Dulligan, who donated his time and the cost of the food he prepared for the party, and most importantly, President and CEO Robert Stack, who provided a brief informal introduction to the organization and answered questions throughout the evening. Because of prompt planning and the efforts of many generous souls like Beth, the event raised over $4,000, with over 75 guests in attendance. Time, talent, treasure—Beth Hegberg knows very well how to combine all three and make them work for the good of those who are less fortunate than her.
