My emotional attachment to our home and all of its contents simply wouldn't allow me to hire outsiders to sort through our lifetime of family memories. I now regret it. The time that I spent sorting, cleaning and packing should have been spent focusing on my parents and their needs. And when I should have been taking them around town to say their goodbyes, I was too exhausted from the work. Experienced, objective outsiders could have made better decisions than we made.
