- The Kiski-Conemaugh River Basin covers 1,887 square miles in portions of Armstrong, Indiana, Westmoreland, Cambria and Somerset counties in southwestern Pennsylvania. Once denigrated by the very industries that built the economic viability of the area, the Conemaugh Valley and Kiskiminetas corridor is experiencing a spectacular recovery thanks to the efforts of many conservation partners. CVC Mission: Promoting the conservation and preservation of natural, cultural and historic resources and encouraging prudent land-use practices in the Kiski-Conemaugh River Basin by: Restoring and enhancing land and water-based natural resources and promoting citizen environmental stewardship through low impact recreation.
