Is Honey Vegan?

Veganism is abstinence from all animal products. No, wait, that's impossible. Let's try again: it's not using animal products, whenever possible and practical. Or is it just acting in accordance with compassion? What is it, anyway?

Dr. Michael Greger says that vegans need to reconsider their advocacy concerning honey. It's a question of consistency and advocacy. Non-vegans understand, basically, the cruelties of factory farms, and can relate to the horrors of chickens debeaked and crowded into cages, and so forth.

But not eating honey because of cruelty to bees? Non-vegans are just going to roll their eyes at this whole controversy, which I suspect is exactly the point that Dr. Greger is making. Suprisingly, most vegans don't agree with him on this point. They want to eliminate any impurities within our ranks. If we make ourselves worthy, soon Vega will rule the galaxy! (Just kidding.)
